Services
Bespoke operations and software solutions.
Most of what slows a real estate organisation down is not a missing feature — it is how information moves between the people and systems that already exist. We work on that directly.
Operations
Fixing how the work runs.
Process, controls, and reporting — the parts of the back office that determine whether the numbers can be trusted and how long it takes to produce them.
Back-office and close design
Map how the month actually closes today, then rebuild it: who owns which step, what gets reconciled when, and which controls have to exist before anyone can rely on the numbers.
Accounting cleanup and migration
Chart of accounts restructuring, entity and ownership modelling, opening balance work, and moving off a system that stopped fitting — without losing the history.
Owner and investor reporting
Statement and reporting packages that come out of the books rather than assembled alongside them, so the version an owner receives reconciles to the ledger by construction.
Controls and audit readiness
Trust and security-deposit handling, segregation of duties, and the audit trail an examiner or auditor will ask to see — addressed before somebody asks.
Software
Building what nobody sells.
We write software when the off-the-shelf answer would cost more in workarounds than it saves in licence fees — and we are candid about when that isn’t the case.
Internal tools
The workflow no vendor has built software to handle: an approval queue shaped like your organisation, an allocation engine that matches your operating agreements, an operations dashboard built for how you actually run.
Integrations and data plumbing
Getting agreement between systems that were never designed to talk to each other — bank feeds, accounting platforms, property systems, and whatever the previous owner left behind.
Reporting and analytics layers
A reporting layer over the systems you keep, so the numbers are queryable and traceable without replacing everything underneath first.
Migrations
Moving a portfolio from one system to another with the balances intact, the history preserved, and the cutover kept out of the middle of close.
How engagements work
Small, defined, and reversible.
You should be able to find out whether we are useful without committing to a long programme of work.
- 1
Assessment
A short, paid engagement to understand how the portfolio is run today. You get a written assessment of what is costing you time and what we would recommend. The assessment is useful on its own, whether or not you go further.
- 2
Scope and proposal
A defined piece of work with a fixed scope, a deliverable, and a price. No open-ended retainers to start.
- 3
Build and hand over
We do the work alongside your team, document it, and train the people who will own it afterwards.
What you keep
Documentation, training, and — where we have written software — the code. Engagements are designed to end. If the arrangement only works while we are still on the invoice, we have built the wrong thing.
Tell us where it hurts.
Describe how your portfolio is run today and what keeps breaking. If we can help, we’ll say how. If BrassTacks or another product is the better answer, we’ll say that instead.
